Box 1: The amputee
Box 2: The foetus on the sofa
Box 3: The mirror dwarf
Cube
Each box owes its musical structure to the imitation and transcription of
movement. Each panel contains directions for the production of sound.
Frame notation is used throughout the series including the cube, indicating
cues and windows (via ‘event brackets’) for each performer. Each Box also
contains directions that are open to interpretation.

The boxes were exhibited as part of a solo exhibition at Centre for Recent Drawing in April 2007.
A performance of the boxes can be heard on the album "The Best of Futility Music" - Volume 1 (2009) released by squib-box.
